The village has excellent sports facilities mostly based at The Wigginton Sports and Playing Fields based on Mill Lane. The facilities are managed by the Wigginton Sports and Playing Fields Association or by individual clubs and activities.
Sports facilities offered include:- football, squash, bowling and tennis each having its own organising committee.
Local Team Wigginton Grasshoppers play during the season on the 4 football pitches currently available, facilities include floodlit lighting and changing rooms and offices for the teams.

A friendly locally based club
which plays lawn bowls from April to September, for ladies, gents
and mixed teams. The club welcome beginners and seasoned bowlers alike.
No
joining fee and a month's free trial membership is on offer. The green
opens every day from late April to late September for competitive
and social bowling. It has dedicated organised social bowling,
bowls drives, club competitions and league matches taking place
throughout the year. Visiting touring parties to the club are
welcome.

A friendly 3 court Squash & Racketball Club, with bar, lounge and
function facilities. It is an ideal environment to enjoy sport or social time . The bar is open every night

enjoy a members priced bar in a relaxed environment and additional

Wigginton Tennis Club was formed in 1982 and is an LTA clubmark club.We currently have approximately 90 adult and 90 Junior members.We have 4 carpeted courts 2 of which are floodlit. We offer tennis to York and the surrounding area and encourage membership from all ages and abilities.
